Renegades girls assist at coaching sessions for the U11's squad as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme.
The DofE is the worlds leading youth achievements award, giving millions of 14-24 year olds the opportunity to be the very best they can. Girls speak on their experiences with coaching with Renegades below. Please email us if this is something you would like to be a part of.
Renegades Girls are encouraged to become umpires. Being able to umpire is a great way to achieve a better understanding of the game and the rules. Umpiring is also a great way to earn good money whilst studying at college, university or as a second job.

I don't know what I'd do without the club, I have made so many friends and learnt so much over all of the years that I have been playing netball. I am working towards my silver Duke of Edinburgh and I have now been coaching every Tuesday for around a year. I love coaching all the year 4's and 5's because it reminds me of when I was that small playing netball. Every Tuesday I look forward to seeing all of the girls and I really love coaching them. I train on Saturday's with girls from year 7 and up. Every week we do a new drills and learn new skills it is so much fun just to be able to play netball with my friends.

Netball coaching has taught me so much about leadership, organisation and furthered my love for the sport. I love coming and seeing every Saturday how the girls progress their skills and most importantly have so much fun! I also umpire at the various tournaments we host throughout the year, something which I love to do. Since the lockdowns mean I can't coach in person, I have been helping updating our website. Being part of the Renegades coaching team is such a wonderful experience and I hope to continue to be a part of the team for many more years!

My name is Sukie and I’m currently in Year 11 at St James Senior Girls School. Although I’ve loved playing netball for many years, I didn’t realise I would love coaching just as much ! It has really helped with my communication skills and my self confidence. I love being a mentor and role model to the younger team members and really look forward to our weekly training sessions.
